Ghanian British designer Beatrice koriekie Newman on Vogue black Italian with her collection LICORICE for it's 2012 London campaign.
These are really lovely designs. :) I like it.LICORICE is from two words LICO and RICE which means blank and sweet.aww how sweet. :p,and you know what's even sweeter,she mixed a bit if Ghanian culture with a little bit of british which cooked up these lovely designs.Really creative.

FROM GHANA,MEET YOUNG DENIM LABEL"DUAFE"

I rarely criticise African fashion labels,but this would have to be my first.
I am trying to see the uniqueness in this label,but am sorry,its rather difficult.Maybe its this collection,or maybe its just the sleep in  my eyes,lol.
I was reading one of my favourite blogs one nigerian boy when I came across Duafe.According to it,it says Duafe is a young Ghanaian denim label and its rich in light stretched denim.I personally feel they have the potentials of really doing a great job if more effort is put to their piece.Unlike what I see here,it's more of a lazy kind of job especially with the denim and Ankara jeans.Compared to the rate at which African designers are creating master pieces,Duafe wouldn't stand a chance if they do not step up their game.
Forget about what i think,What do you think?

   According to last month's issue of ebony magazine the list of designers above are ready to keep us on a WOW state this year.I have no reason to oppose,they are doing their best,and their best is just right.I hear of these designers everyday,and there are no doubts that they are really taking African fashion to a whole new international level.YAY!! ;D
1.  MAKI OH is one of Nigerian finest designers.Even Solange Knowles and LeeLee Sobieski know so as they where spotted in some of maki oh's pieces.

 2.JEWEL BY LISA.......The question is who doesn't know jewels by Lisa.I LOVE HER/HER DESIGNS(NO HOMO)LOL.It seems am not the only one doing the loving here,American singer,kelis,cant seem to get her hands off Lisa's designs either.

4.TELFAR CLEMENS...this is one designer i never understood.I tried to look into his work at a time,but i couldn't just get it.His style of fashion is rather complicating,but who am i to judge what you think,that's just my opinion.

5.MARGA WEIMANS..like we all have our different taste in fashion,i think that goes for marga weimans based in Netherland too.She is the only dutch designer to finish the 4th master year of prestigious royal  Antwerp Art Academy.

   According to UN Secretary General,“ Africa does not need charity. Africa needs investment and charity“. This is totally true.Take for instance our textile and movie industries,it has improved a lot,but with more investments and willingness to promote,i bet it would even more.

Denim summer... (ITEMS MUST HAVE)

Do you smell that!well I do.Summer time is near,the time to show off those legs that has been hiding under those maxis for a while now.
Washed out denim prints is back again.This is one trend that never seem to fade away permanently,in fact,it never does.
This summer is all about Shorts and jackets,I mean lovely denim shorts and jackets :D.Am sorry,I get awfully excited whenever summer is near.
Well most fashionistas are already changing their closets to less spring,and more summer.It's time to show some skin,lol.So do the same,lets
Get ready for summer time...
Another thing to note when shopping for this summer aside washed out denim is under short shorts, :).I know sometimes it might seem really difficult to wear especially when you are in a country like mine,lol,Nigeria,but pairing it with a loosed blouse with nice pair of casual slippers or trendy wedges would give you that ready-to-play casual summer look without looking or feeling trampy.
Another great tip to note is think high waste denim.This is my favorite look.If you are going for a sophisticated and cheek kind of look,pairing it with a nice
collared chiffon blouse with a nice neutral belt and a pair of heels or flats,and O yes!don't forget our favorite cateyes sunglasses.
Denim jackets is another must have.love it love it,It's a really nice retro look.
So don't wait till summer is hear,you might not find any good stuffs in the stores when it comes,lol.... :)
